What type of RAM does my Mac have?

RAM and storage memory (storage), what is the difference?
RAM (RAM) - the operating memory device - the part of the computer memory system that is used by the operating system, programs, as well as input, output and intermediate data processed by the processor.
Internal memory (drive, storage, hard disk drive, SSD, HDD): computer memory used to store all computer data (including data not currently in use).

Tap the Apple logo () in the upper left corner of the screen.

How to check RAM consumption on a Mac
Open the Finder application, go to the «Applications» folder, scroll down and open the «Utilities» folder.

4. Look at the bottom of the window to see information about the current RAM usage.
The color of the «Memory Load» graph will give you an indication of how much memory you are currently using. Green indicates that there is some memory available. Red, on the other hand, indicates that you are running out of memory. Mac OS starts using the boot disk to expand memory. In this case, Apple recommends closing unused applications or installing more RAM. Yellow indicates that the system still has memory available, but the Mac is already starting to optimize its performance.
5. Note the Memory column, which will place the processes in order of highest RAM consumption.
If necessary, terminate these processes. To do so, highlight the desired process and click the «×» button in the upper left corner of the System Monito ring application window.
How to check the available storage (internal memory) on your Mac
Whether you are notified that your boot drive is almost full or you simply want to know how much storage you have available, you may need to obtain this information.
Tap the Apple logo ( ) in the upper left corner of the screen.
2. Click About this Mac.
3. Click the Storage tab. You should see a cumulative bar chart showing the amount of storage occupied by different categories of data. You can also see how much space is available on your hard drive.
4. If you want to know in detail how much space each application or file occupies, click «Manage...» to get a detailed report.

Open the Finder application, go to the «Applications» folder, scroll down and open the «Utilities» folder.

3. On the left side of the screen, select the unit whose capacity and use you are interested in.
4. A window will open with a bar graph showing the amount of shared storage that is currently occupied. It will then show in a little more detail how many megabytes or gigabytes are in use and how many are free.

Open the Finder application.
