Loose connector
The charger moves inside the port and loses contact. Usually occurs due to wear or pulling on the cable. Causes the laptop to sometimes charge by itself or stop charging completely.
Sunken port
The connector has shifted into the chassis. This happens when the notebook is hit or the cable is forced too hard. The charger does not make proper contact.
Broken welds
The internal joints of the port have become detached from the motherboard. This is a very common failure and causes the laptop to not recognize the charger even though the port appears to be OK on the outside.
USB-C damaged
USB-C ports are delicate and can warp, burn or fail to detect the charger. They also fail when non-genuine chargers or poor quality cables are used.
Burned entrance
