The deployment of 5G is significantly transforming network infrastructure in several dimensions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Radio and Antenna Infrastructure<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

5G technology requires a high density of base stations due to the high frequency at which it operates (especially in mmWave bands), which have a reduced range compared to 4G. This means that 5G networks must include a large number of small antennas (small cells) in densely populated urban areas in order to provide adequate coverage. The density of 5G antennas and the processing and transport infrastructure requirements lead to increased power consumption. This has prompted network users to look for energy-efficient infrastructure solutions and to establish more efficient base stations, as well as using alternative energy in certain cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
